Demolished in Soviet times and then recently rebuilt on the model of the original, the Cathedral of the Transfiguration is the result of successive interventions, continuous stratifications that led from the first masonry building, designed by architect P. Kharlamov and built by Francesco Frapolli, to the late 19th-century appearance, to which Giovanni Battista Frapolli, Francesco Boffa and Giorgio Torricelli, among others, contributed
